Indications

Description
- Combination of Calcium Carbonate and Vitamin D3

Pharmacology

Dosage & Administration
- Oral route of administration
- One tablet in the morning and one tablet at night
- Use in children and adolescents should be directed by the physician
Interaction

- Potential reduction of Calcium uptake by certain foods (e.g. spinach, milk and milk products)
Contraindications
- Hypercalcemia and hyperparathyroidism
- Hypercalciuria and nephrolithiasis
- Hypersensitivity to the component of this preparation
- Severe renal insufficiencies
- Concomitant digoxin therapy
Side Effects
- Common: Irritation to the gastrointestinal tract, constipation (eggshell Calcium is safe for long-term use)
- Rare: Kidney stone, hypercalcemia, alkalosis, loss of appetite
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Use as directed by the physician during Pregnancy and Lactation
Precautions & Warnings
- Discontinuation required if hypercalcemia occurs
- Patients with a history of kidney stone formation should increase fluid intake
Overdose Effects
- Symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, loss of appetite, metallic taste, diarrhea, weakness, headache, irritability, or dizziness
