Composition

  • 500 mg & 200 IU option: Calcium Carbonate BP 1250 mg + Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3) BP 200 IU
  • 600 mg & 400 IU option: Calcium Carbonate BP 1500 mg + Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3) BP 400 IU

Dosage & Administration

  • Oral administration

Interaction

  • Potential interactions with digoxin, antacids, other Calcium supplements, calcitriol, tetracycline, doxycycline, aminocycline, oxytetracycline
  • Reduction of Calcium uptake by concomitant ingestion of certain foods

Contraindications

  • Hypercalcemia and hyperparathyroidism
  • Hypercalciuria and nephrolithiasis
  • Hypersensitivity to the component of this preparation
  • Severe renal insufficiencies
  • Concomitant digoxin therapy

Side Effects

  • Orally administered Calcium Carbonate may cause irritation to the GI tract and constipation
  • Rare side effects may include kidney stone, hypercalcemia, alkalosis, and loss of appetite

Pregnancy & Lactation

  • Safe use as directed by the physician

Precautions & Warnings

  • Discontinuation required in case of hypercalcemia
  • Patients with a history of kidney stone formation should increase fluid intake

Overdose Effects

  • Symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, loss of appetite, metallic taste, diarrhea, weakness, headache, irritability, dizziness
