Indications

• Treatment of Hypertension

Pharmacology

• Additive antihypertensive effects
• β1-selective adrenoceptor blocking agent
• Benzothiadiazine diuretic

Dosage & Administration

• Effective once-daily doses
• Antihypertensive therapy initiation
• Substitution for titrated individual components

Interaction

• Potentiation of other antihypertensive agents
• Cautious use with myocardial depressants
• Increased risk of bradycardia with concomitant use of digitalis glycosides and beta-blockers

Contraindications

• Cardiogenic shock
• Overt cardiac failure
• Second or third degree AV block
• Marked sinus bradycardia
• Anuria
• Hypersensitivity to components or sulfonamide-derived drugs
