Indications

Composition

Tablet Type

Dosage

  • 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks (Adult)
  • 20 mg once daily (Adult)

Usage

  • Swallow whole with liquid
  • Can be dispersed in half a glass of non-carbonated water if needed

Pharmacology

  • Inhibits gastric acid by blocking the proton pump of the gastric parietal cell
  • Effective for short-term treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers

Mode of Action

  • Inhibition of the hydrogen-potassium adenosine triphosphatase enzyme system

Interaction

  • Metabolized in the liver by CYP2C19 and CYP3A4
  • Does not have clinically significant interactions with certain drugs
