Indications

• Oral contraception

Pharmacology

• Contains synthetic progestogen (drospirenone) and synthetic estrogen (ethinylestradiol)
• Inhibits ovulation
• Thickens cervical mucus
• Makes endometrium unreceptive to implantation
• Regulates menstrual cycle
• Positive properties include regular cycle and reduced menstrual pain

• Tablets marked with day of the week for consumption
• Instructions for starting the first pack and changing from other contraceptives

Contraindications

• Should not be used in presence of thrombosis, migraine with focal neurological symptoms, diabetes with vascular involvement, disturbed lipometabolism, severe hepatic disease, severe renal insufficiency, liver tumors, undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, known or suspected pregnancy, and hypersensitivity to components
