Indications
- Nasal congestion treatment

Pharmacology
- Oxymetazoline Hydrochloride
- Sympathomimetic amine
- Vasoconstriction of nasal arterioles
- Improved airway potency
- Reduced nasal mucosa swelling
Dosage
- Adult dosage: 2 or 3 sprays in each nostril twice daily for 3-5 days
- Elderly dosage: No reduction needed
- Not suitable for children below 6 years of age
- Adult & children 6 years: 2-3 drops of 0.05% Nasal Drops in each nostril twice daily
- Children 2-5 years: 2-3 drops of 0.025% Nasal Drops in each nostril twice daily
Administration
- Shake the bottle gently
- Clear the nostrils by blowing the nose
- Insert nasal applicator into nostril and release spray
- Clean the nasal spray at least once a week
Interaction
- Avoid use with MAO inhibitors or within 14 days of ceasing such treatment
Contraindications
- Patients with cardiovascular disease
- Patients with hyperthyroidism
- Patients with prostatic enlargement
- Patients with angle closure glaucoma
- Hypersensitivity to any ingredients
Side Effects
- Local irritation
- Dryness of mouth and throat
- Burning or stinging sensation
- Increase in nasal discharge
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Safety not established during pregnancy and lactation
- Not thought to constitute a hazard during those periods
Precautions & Warnings
- Avoid contact with eyes
- Use for no longer than seven days without medical advice
- Frequent or prolonged use may worsen nasal congestion

- Rebound congestion
