Indications

Pharmacology
Structural derivative of the inhibitory neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA)
Maximum Recommended Dosage
- Neuropathic pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN): 300 mg/day
- Postherpetic neuralgia (PHN): 300 mg/day
- Fibromyalgia: 450 mg/day
- Neuropathic pain associated with spinal cord injury: 600 mg/day

- Special Instructions: Pregabalin CR tablet should be administered after an evening meal

Contraindications
Known hypersensitivity to Pregabalin or any of its components
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Pregnancy: Potential risk to a fetus, no adequate and well-controlled studies
- Lactation: Small amounts detected in the milk, not recommended
Precautions & Warnings
- Angioedema may occur and require immediate discontinuation
- Increased risk of suicidal thoughts or behavior
- Respiratory depression may occur with concomitant CNS depressants
- May cause dizziness and somnolence, impairing ability to drive or operate machinery
- Withdrawal should be gradual over a minimum of 1 week
Overdose Effects
Reduced consciousness, depression/anxiety, confusional state, agitation, restlessness, seizures, heart block

Unlikely to be involved in significant pharmacokinetic drug interactions
