Indications
Add-on therapy for the symptomatic treatment of stable angina pectoris
Pharmacology
Metabolic anti-ischemic agent with proven benefits for coronary patients
Dosage & Administration
Recommended dose of 35 mg twice daily or 20 mg thrice daily during meals
Interaction
No reported drug interactions with beta-blockers, calcium antagonists, nitrates, heparin, hypolipidemic agents, or digitalis preparation
Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to the active substance or excipients, Parkinson’s disease, parkinsonian symptoms, tremors, restless legs movement disorders, severe renal impairment
Side Effects
Common side effects include dizziness, headache, abdominal pain, diarrhea, dyspepsia, nausea, vomiting, rash, pruritus, urticaria, asthenia
Pregnancy & Lactation
Preferable to avoid use during pregnancy and not recommended during breastfeeding
Precautions & Warnings
Not a curative treatment for angina attacks or myocardial infarction, nor an initial treatment for unstable angina pectoris
