Description

• Urotide Capsule is indicated to initiate treatment of the signs and symptoms of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) in men with an enlarged prostate for up to 26 weeks. It is a combination of Finasteride, a specific inhibitor of steroid Type II 5a-reductase, and Tadalafil, a selective inhibitor of phosphodiesterase type-5 (PDE5). The recommended adult dosage is one capsule orally once daily at approximately the same time every day for up to 26 weeks.

Pediatric Use

Geriatric Use

• No observed differences in safety or effectiveness for patients 65 years of age and older

Hepatic Impairment

• Caution advised in case of moderately impaired hepatic function
• Not recommended for severely impaired hepatic function

Renal Impairment

• Not recommended for patients with creatinine clearance < 50 mL/min or undergoing hemodialysis

Interaction with Nitrates

• Contraindicated
• Potentiates the hypotensive effect of nitrates

Interaction with Alpha-Blockers

• Caution advised when co-administered with alpha-blockers
• Discontinuation of alpha-blockers recommended prior to starting Urotide

Interaction with Antihypertensives

• Caution advised as PDE5 inhibitors are mild systemic vasodilators

• Pain in limb

Pregnancy and Lactation

• Contraindicated in pregnancy
• Not indicated for use in females
• Contact with crushed or broken capsule should be washed immediately with soap and water
• Not indicated for use in lactating mothers

Precautions

• Not recommended for patients with recent myocardial infarction, unstable angina, heart failure, uncontrolled arrhythmias, hypotension, uncontrolled hypertension, or recent stroke
• Discontinue immediately if hypersensitivity reaction occurs
• Use with caution in patients with anatomical deformation of the penis

Prolonged Erection

• To be used with caution in patients with anatomical deformation of the penis
• Patients advised to seek emergency treatment if erection lasts more than 4 hours

Overdose Effects

• Standard supportive measures should be adopted as required
