Indications
- Disinfects clean hands of doctors, nurses, and persons
- Disinfects surgical instruments
- Disinfects skin prior to surgery or invasive procedures

Composition
- 0.5% w/v Chlorhexidine Gluconate
- 70% v/v Isopropyl Alcohol BP
Pharmacology
Bactericidal effect due to binding of positively charged chlorhexidine cation to bacterial cell walls
Dosage & Administration
- For disinfecting clean hands and contaminated materials: approximately 3 ml on hands and scrub until dried
- For disinfecting surgical instruments: approximately 5 ml in a clean pot for 2 minutes
- For disinfecting skin prior to surgery: approximately 3 ml with cotton until dried
- For disinfecting wound/wound dressing: approximately 3 ml with cotton until dried
Interaction
Incompatible with soaps and other anionic agents. May cause brown stains on fabrics in contact with hypochlorite bleaches
Contraindications
Should not be used in patients hypersensitive to Chlorhexidine Gluconate or any composition to it

Pregnancy & Lactation
Safe for pregnant women. Safety in lactation is not known
Precautions & Warnings
Avoid contact with brain, meninges, middle ear, sensitive tissues, and eyes. Do not inject or use in body cavities
