Indications

• Steroid-responsive inflammatory ocular conditions
• Bacterial ocular infection
• Allergic conjunctivitis
• Iritis
• Uveitis
• Corneal injury
• Post-operative inflammation

Pharmacology

• Corticosteroid action by inducing phospholipase A2 inhibitory proteins
• Inhibition of prostaglandins and leukotrienes biosynthesis
• Bactericidal activity by inhibiting protein synthesis of bacteria

Dosage & Administration

• Shake well before use
• Apply one drop into the conjunctival sac every 4-6 hours
• Dosing may be increased during initial 24 to 48 hours

Interaction

• Topical administration not expected to affect systemic pharmacokinetics of other drugs

Contraindications

• Viral diseases of the cornea and conjunctiva
• Hypersensitivity to ingredients or corticosteroids

• Burning and stinging upon instillation
• Vision disorders
• Discharge
• Itching
• Lacrimation disorder
• Photophobia
• Corneal deposits
• Ocular discomfort
• Eyelid disorder
• Unspecified eye disorders
• Non-ocular adverse events like headache

Pregnancy & Lactation

• Use in pregnancy if potential benefit justifies potential risk to fetus
• Exercise caution during lactation

Precautions & Warnings

• Ophthalmic use only
• Monitor intraocular pressure if used for 10 days or longer
• Risk of fungal infections with prolonged steroid use
• Overgrowth of nonsusceptible organisms may occur
• Cross-sensitivity to other aminoglycoside antibiotics

Use in Special Populations

• Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients not established

Storage Conditions

• Store at room temperature
• Protect from light
• Do not touch dropper tip to any surface
• Do not use after four weeks of opening
• Protect from freezing
