Indications

• Gastric spasm relief
• Intestinal spasm relief
• Pyloric spasm relief
• Cholelithiasis relief
• Spastic constipation relief
• Tenesmus relief in dysentery
• Tenesmus relief in dysmenorrhea
• Peripheral vascular disorders relief
• Treatment of coronary insufficiency
• Treatment of angina pectoris

Pharmacology

• Rapid onset of action
• Spasmolytic effect
• Vasodilatory action
• Selective blockage of cardiac beta-receptors

Dosage & Administration

• Usual adult dose: 1-2 tablets three times daily
• Usual adult dose: 2-4 ml injection subcutaneously or intramuscularly
• Acute stone colic dose: 2-4 ml by slow intravenous injection
• Peripheral arterial spasm dose: Intra-arterial injection
• Children's dose according to age and body weight
• Combining with atropine in peptic ulcer treatment

Interaction

• May attenuate the action of levodopa
• Additive beneficial effect with concurrent use of analgesics, antimuscarinics, or benzodiazepines

Contraindications

• Patients with a history of hypersensitivity to Drotaverine HCl

Side Effects

• Rare cases of nausea
• Rare cases of vertigo

• Avoid use during pregnancy
• Avoid use during lactation
