Description
Algisum DX 500 Suspension is a combination of two antacids (Calcium carbonate and Sodium bicarbonate) and an alginate (Sodium alginate). It is indicated for the treatment of gastric reflux, heartburn, indigestion, flatulence associated with gastric reflux, heartburn of pregnancy, and all cases of epigastric and retrosternal distress where the underlying cause is gastric reflux.

- Oral suspension for adults and children over 12 years
- Chewable tablet for adults and children over 12 years
- No recommended dosage for children under 6 years
- No dose modifications for the elderly
- No dose modification for hepatic impairment
- Caution for renal insufficiency with highly restricted salt diet
- Interaction:
- Consider a time-interval of 2 hours between intake and administration of other medicinal products
- Contraindications:
- Known or suspected hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or excipients

- Not for patients with phenylketonuria due to aspartame content
- Masking of symptoms of other serious medical conditions
- Not for use in patients with impaired renal function/insufficiency and with hypophosphatemia
