Dosage and Administration
Cream: Apply generously to the painful area and gently massage until the cream disappears. Apply to affected area not more than 3 to 4 times daily. Nasal Inhaler Stick: Used by inserting the inhaler into each nostril, holding the other nostril closed and inhaling deeply. Can be used as frequently as needed
Interaction
Methyl Salicylate may increase Warfarin action and affect vitamin K metabolism
Contraindications
- Cream: Patients with bleeding disorders, allergy to Salicylate, broken skin or raw surfaces. Nasal Inhaler Stick: Hypersensitivity to the active substance, children under 12 years of age
Side Effects
- Cream: Skin redness or irritation, pain lasting for more than 10 days
- Nasal Inhaler Stick: Temporary burning, stinging, dryness in the nose, sneezing
Pregnancy and Lactation
Use only if clearly needed during pregnancy or while breast-feeding
Precautions and Warnings
- External use only
- Do not use with a heating pad
- Keep away from children to avoid accidental poisoning
- Do not use tight bandage or swallow
- Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes, broken or irritated skin
