- Clarity on etiology for abnormal bleeding before treatment
- Monitoring breakthrough bleeding and spotting
- Investigation of reasons for continued bleeding
- Monitoring for severe headache, migraine, cerebral ischemia symptoms
- Monitoring for marked increase in blood pressure
- Monitoring for occurrence of venous thromboembolism (VTE)
- Viability assessment in cases of habitual or threatened abortion
- Monitoring of pregnancy progression and embryo viability
- Careful monitoring for patients with history of depression
Overdose Effects
- Well-tolerated after oral dosing
- Maximum daily dose: 360 mg
- No reports of ill effects from overdose
- Recommendation for gastric lavage if large overdose is discovered within two or three hours
