- Infected contact dermatitis caused by susceptible organisms
Pharmacology
- Bactericidal antibiotic
- Active against Gram-positive & Gram-negative pathogens
- Interferes with protein synthesis of the bacterial cell
Dosage & Administration
- Apply 3 times daily
- Wash the area with soap and water before application
- Dry the area thoroughly before application
- Remove crusts before applying ointment for maximum contact with infecting organisms
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Gentamicin
- Pregnancy
- Myasthenia gravis
