Indications
- Albengen DS indicated in hookworm, roundworm, threadworm, whipworm, strongyloides, tapeworm, opisthorchi, hydatid infestations
Description
- Albengen DS is a benzimidazole anthelmintic
- Active against most nematodes and some cestodes
- Used in the treatment of intestinal nematode infections and hydatid disease
- Exhibits vermicidal, ovicidal, and larvicidal activity
- Inhibitory effect on tubulin polymerization
Pharmacology
- Broad spectrum anthelmintic
- Exhibits vermicidal, ovicidal and larvicidal activities
- Blocks glucose uptake in susceptible helminths
- Exerts anthelmintic effect by blocking glucose uptake
- Binds and inhibits parasite tubulin polymerization

Contraindications
