Indications

• Fast & effective relief of Chest congestion
• Cough
• Sore throat

Pharmacology

• Expectorant
• Cough suppressant
• Local anesthetic
• Counterirritant

Dosage & Administration

• Adult use only (12 years and over)
• 2 teaspoonful syrup every 6 hours
• Maximum 8 teaspoonful syrup/day

Contraindications

• Not to be taken with monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) drugs

Precautions & Warnings

• Should not be used with asthma, chronic lung disease, or shortness of breath
• Consult a doctor when taking MAOI inhibitor drugs

Overdose Effects

• Unlikely toxic effects from guaifenesin overdosage
• Gastric emptying recommended for Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide overdosage
• Excitement, mental confusion, respiratory depression in Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide overdosage
• Harmful symptoms from menthol in large amounts
