Indications
- Treatment of bronchospasm in adults

Pharmacology
- Levosalbutamol is a single isomer beta 2-agonist
- Levosalbutamol is an effective bronchodilator
- Primary mechanism of action of Levosalbutamol
Dosage & Administration
- Adult dosage: 1-2 mg three times daily
- Adolescent dosage: 1-2 mg three times daily
- Child dosage: 1 mg three times daily
- Adult syrup dosage: 5-10 ml three times daily
- Child syrup dosage: 5 ml three times daily
Interaction
- Use caution with other short acting sympathomimetic bronchodilators
- Caution with adrenergic drugs to avoid cardiovascular effects
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to levosalbutamol

- Hypocalcaemia
- Palpitation
- Muscle cramps
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Diarrhoea
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Use during pregnancy only if potential benefit justifies potential risk
- Unknown excretion in human milk
- Caution during nursing
Precautions & Warnings
- Particular caution in acute severe asthma
- Potentiation by hypoxia and concomitant treatment with xanthine derivatives, steroids and diuretics
- Monitor serum potassium levels
