Pharmacology
- Long-acting β2 adrenergic receptor agonist
- Stimulates relaxation of bronchial smooth muscle
- Inhibition of release of endogenous spasmogens
- Increased mucociliary clearance
Dosage & Administration
- Recommended dose for children 2-5 years: 10 mg (10 ml syrup)
- Recommended dose for children 6-12 years: 10-20 mg
- Recommended initial adult dose: 10 mg, may increase to 20 mg after 1-2 weeks

Overdose Effects
- Symptoms may include: headache, anxiety, tremor, nausea, muscle cramps
- Hyperglycemia and lactic acidosis sometimes occur
- Hypokalemia due to potassium redistribution
