Description
Gavisus DX 500 Suspension is a combination of two antacids (Calcium carbonate and Sodium bicarbonate) and an alginate (Sodium alginate) used for the relief of gastric reflux, heartburn, indigestion, and flatulence associated with gastric reflux.

Mode of Action
- Neutralizing excess stomach acid
- Forming a protective barrier over the stomach contents
- Raft interaction with acid pocket
- Protection from Acid, Pepsin, Bile
Dosage and Administration
- Oral Suspension:
- Adult and children over 12 years: 10-20 mL after meals and at bedtime, up to four times a day
- Children 6 to 12 years: 5-10 mL after meals and at bedtime, up to four times a day
- Children under 6 years: Not recommended
- Elderly: No dose modifications necessary
- Chewable Tablet:
- Adults and children 12 years and over: Take two to four tablets after meals and at bedtime, up to four times a day
- Children under 12 years: Tablets should be given only on medical advice
- Hepatic Impairment: No dose modification necessary
- Renal Insufficiency: Caution if highly restricted salt diet is necessary

Contraindications
Known or suspected hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or to any of the excipients

Pregnancy and Lactation
- Pregnancy: Can be used if clinically needed
- Breastfeeding: No effects on breastfed newborns/infants
- Fertility: No negative effect on parental or offspring fertility
Precautions and Warnings
- High sodium and calcium content
- Treatment of children under 12 years is not generally recommended
- Not recommended for patients with phenylketonuria
- Seek medical advice if symptoms persist for more than 7 days
- Masking of symptoms of underlying medical conditions
- Avoid in patients with impaired renal function/insufficiency and hypophosphatemia
