Dosage instructions
- Oral suspension:
- Adult and children over 12 years: 10-20 mL after meals and at bedtime, up to four times a day
- Children 6 to 12 years: 5-10 mL after meals and at bedtime, up to four times a day
- Children under 6 years: Not recommended
- Elderly: No dose modifications necessary
- Chewable tablet:
- Adults and children 12 years and over: Two to four tablets after meals and at bedtime, up to four times a day
- Children under 12 years: Tablets should be given only on medical advice
- Special cautions:
- Hepatic Impairment: No dose modification necessary
- Renal Insufficiency: Caution if highly restricted salt diet is necessary

- Time interval: 2 hours between Algifast intake and the administration of other medicinal products

- Sodium content caution: high sodium content (254.5 mg per 20 mL dose)
- Calcium content caution: 260 mg of calcium per 20 mL dose
- Restricted usage: not recommended for children younger than 12 years, except on medical advice
- Special caution:
- high in sodium - caution with restricted salt diet
- aspartame content - not for patients with phenylketonuria
- masking of symptoms of serious medical conditions
- not for patients with impaired renal function/insufficiency and with hypophosphatemia
- may cause allergic reactions
