Description

Indications
- Prophylactic treatment of bronchial asthma
- Symptomatic treatment of allergic conditions including rhinitis and conjunctivitis
- Alleviating the complications of itching, pain, and tenderness associated with neurofibroma
- Symptomatic treatment of allergy such as hayfever, urticaria
Pharmacology
- Anti-allergic properties

Dosage and administration
- Adult dosage: 1 mg twice daily with food, may be increased to 2 mg in severe cases
- Children above 3 years: 1 mg twice daily with food
- Elderly: Same as adult dose or as advised by the physician
Interaction
- May potentiate the effects of sedatives, hypnotics, antihistamines, and alcohol
- Reversible fall in platelet count observed when used with oral antidiabetic agents
Contraindications
- Avoid concomitant use with oral antidiabetic agents due to reversible fall in platelet count
- Caution advised during pregnancy and breastfeeding

Precautions and warnings

- Avoid operating vehicles or machinery during the first day of treatment
- Potentiates the effects of sedatives, hypnotics, antihistamines, and alcohol
