Indications
- Bronchial asthma

Pharmacology
Bambuterol is a prodrug of terbutaline, a long-acting β2 adrenergic receptor agonist used in the treatment of asthma.
Dosage & Administration
- Children 2-5 years: 10 mg (10 ml syrup)
- Children 6-12 years: 10 mg (10 ml syrup), may be increased to 20 mg
- Adult: 10 mg initially, may be increased to 20 mg after 1-2 weeks

Contraindications
Hepatic impairment, liver cirrhosis, severely impaired liver function

Pregnancy & Lactation
Caution recommended during first trimester of pregnancy, caution recommended if administered to breastfeeding patients, transient hypoglycemia reported in newborn pre-term infants
Precautions & Warnings
Dose should be reduced in patients with severely impaired renal function, genetic deficiencies of plasma cholinesterase, severe ischemic heart disease
Overdose Effects
Symptoms may include headache, anxiety, tremor, nausea, muscle cramps, palpitations, tachycardia, cardiac arrhythmias, laboratory findings: hyperglycemia, lactacidosis, hypokalemia
