Description

Doctil Plus is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by sensitive bacteria

Dosage

250 mg b.i.d. for 5-10 days for Pharyngitis/Tonsillitis in adults
500 mg b.i.d. for 10 days for Acute bacterial maxillary sinusitis in adults
250-500 mg b.i.d. for 10 days for Acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis in adults

Pharmacology

Cefuroxime inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by interfering with the transpeptidation process
Clavulanic acid protects Cefuroxime from degradation by beta lactamase enzymes

Interaction

Probenecid increases the area under the serum concentration versus time curve by 50% when administered with Cefuroxime-Clavulanic Acid

Known allergy to cephalosporin
Pseudomembranous Colitis
