Indications
- Treatment of Hormone Receptor (HR)-positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-negative advanced breast cancer in postmenopausal women
- Treatment of HR-positive advanced breast cancer in postmenopausal women with disease progression following endocrine therapy
- Treatment of HR-positive, HER2-negative advanced or metastatic breast cancer in postmenopausal women in combination with ribociclib
- Treatment of HR-positive, HER2-negative advanced or metastatic breast cancer in combination with palbociclib or abemaciclib
- Treatment of breast cancer in combination with initial endocrine based therapy or following disease progression on endocrine therapy
Pharmacology
- Estrogen receptor antagonist
- Binds competitively to estrogen receptor
- Downregulates estrogen receptor protein in human breast cancer cells
- Reversible inhibitor of the growth of tamoxifen-resistant and estrogen-sensitive human breast cancer cells
- Inhibited the growth of established breast cancer xenografts
- Showed no agonist-type effects in uterotrophic assays
