Description
Para-AL is indicated for fever, common cold and influenza, headache, toothache, myalgia, neuralgia, dysmenorrhoea, sprains, colic pain, back pain, post-operative pain, postpartum pain and more. It has analgesic and antipyretic properties with weak anti-inflammatory activity. It is available in tablet, extended-release tablet, syrup/suspension, suppository, and paediatric drop forms.

Interaction
Diminished ability to metabolize when taken with barbiturates, tricyclic antidepressants, or alcohol. Chronic ingestion of anticonvulsants or oral steroid contraceptives may prevent attainment of therapeutic levels.

- Not to be taken concurrently with other Para-AL-containing products
Overdose Effects
- Liver damage possible in adults who have taken 10 g or more
- Symptoms include pallor, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain
- Immediate treatment is essential in the management of Para-AL overdose
