Dosage & Administration
- Adult dosage: 75-150 mg daily
- Children dosage: 1-3 mg of diclofenac/kg body weight daily
- Dosage reduction in long term use
- Dosage preferably after food
- Maximum daily dosage: 150 mg
- Dosage taken whole with liquid
- Dosage preferably at meal times
- Supplementation with conventional tablets if necessary
- Dose reduction in elderly or debilitated patients
- Maximum daily dose for suppository: 150 mg
- External use only for gel
Interaction
- Increased plasma concentrations of lithium and digoxin
- Increased risk of haemorrhage with anticoagulant therapy
- Can be given together with oral antidiabetic agents
- Cases of nephrotoxicity with cyclosporin concomitantly
- Serious toxicity when co-administered with methotrexate
- Potential convulsions with quinolone antimicrobials
- Increased frequency of unwanted effects with other NSAIDs and steroids
- Lowered plasma levels with aspirin
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to any ingredient
- Peptic ulcer
- Hypersensitivity to Diclofenac
- Contra-indicated in asthmatic patients

Pregnancy & Lactation
- Use only for compelling reasons during pregnancy
- Lowest effective dose should be used during pregnancy
- Not recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy
- Not recommended during lactation
Precautions & Warnings
- Close observation for peptic ulceration or gastrointestinal bleeding
- Close observation for elderly patients
- Avoid contact with eyes or mucus membranes for gel
- Proper hand washing after application
- Not for oral consumption
