Indications

• Treatment of hypertension
• Initial therapy for blood pressure goals

Pharmacology

• Combination of Telmisartan and Amiodipine
• Angiotensin receptor blocker
• Calcium-channel blocker
• Mechanism of action on AT1 subtype
• Vasodilation and blood pressure reduction

Dosage & Administration

• Initial dose: 40/5 mg once daily
• Larger blood pressure reductions with 80/5 mg once daily
• Add-on therapy for inadequately controlled patients
• Replacement therapy with individualized dosage
• Maximum recommended dose: 80/10 mg once daily

Interaction

• No clinically significant interaction with various drugs
• Possible inhibition of CYP2C19 metabolism

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to product or components
• Pregnancy and lactation
• Severe hepatic impairment, hypotension, cardiogenic shock

Pregnancy & Lactation

• Pregnancy Categories C and D
• Potential adverse effects on nursing infant

Precautions & Warnings

• Avoid fetal or neonatal exposure
• Correct any volume or salt depletion before therapy
• Titrate slowly in hepatic or severe renal impairment
• Monitor for worsening heart failure

Use in Special Populations

• Pediatric use not established
• Initial therapy not recommended in patients ≥75 years or with hepatic impairment

Overdose Effects

• Manifestations of overdosage
• Supportive treatment for symptomatic hypotension
• Active cardiac and respiratory monitoring for massive overdose
