Indications
- Symptomatic treatment of allergic rhinoconjunctivitis
- Symptomatic treatment of urticaria
- Relief of hay fever symptoms
Pharmacology
- Bilastine is a non-sedating histamine antagonist
- High affinity to H1 receptor
- No affinity for other receptors or histamine subtypes
Dosage & Administration
- Recommended dose of 20 mg tablet for adults and adolescents
- Dose of 10 mg mouth dissolving tablet for children aged 6 to 11 years
- Dose of 4 ml for children aged 2 to 11 years
Interaction
- Increased concentration when used with ketoconazole, erythromycin, cyclosporine, or diltiazem
- No potentiation of CNS effects with lorazepam
- Similar psychomotor performance to alcohol
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to the active substance or excipients
