Indications

  • Treatment of allergic rhinoconjunctivitis
  • Treatment of urticaria
  • Symptomatic relief of hay fever symptoms

Pharmacology

  • Potent histamine antagonist
  • High affinity to H1 receptor
  • Non-sedating
  • Selective action on histamine receptor subtypes
  • Favorable pharmacokinetic characteristics

Dosage & Administration

  • Adult dosage: 20 mg tablet once daily
  • Adolescent dosage: 20 mg tablet once daily
  • Children (6-11 years) dosage: 10 mg mouth dissolving tablet once daily
  • Children (2-11 years) dosage: 4 ml once daily

Interaction

  • Increased concentration with ketoconazole, erythromycin, cyclosporine, or diltiazem
  • No potentiation of CNS effects when taken with lorazepam
  • Similar psychomotor performance with alcohol
  • No significant impact on alcohol intake

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to active substance or excipients
