Indications
- Relief of cough

Composition
- Guaifenesin BP 100 mg
- Levomenthol BP 1.1 mg
- Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride BP 14 mg
Pharmacology
- Guaifenesin reduces viscosity of sputum
- Levomenthol has local anesthetic properties
- Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride has antitussive and antihistaminic properties
Dosage & Administration
- Dosage for adults and children over 12 years
- Dosage: 2 teaspoonfuls syrup 4 times a day
- Max dosage: 8 teaspoonfuls syrup in 24 hours
- Efficacy and safety not established in pediatric patients and adolescents
Interaction
- May potentiate effects of alcohol and other CNS depressants
- May potentiate effects of anticholinergics
- May result in tachycardia, dry mouth, urinary retention, etc.
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in individuals with hypersensitivity to the product
- Should not be administered to patients receiving MAOIs

Overdose Effects
- Guaifenesin may cause renal calculi
- Treatment should be symptomatic and supportive
