Composition

  • Calcium Carbonate (Algae Source) BP 1250 mg equivalent to elemental Calcium 500 mg
  • Vitamin D3 200 IU as Cholecalciferol USP

Pharmacology

  • Essential for bone strength

Dosage & Administration

  • Usual adult dose: 1 tablet in the morning and 1 tablet at night
  • Oral administration

Interaction

  • Reduces absorption of bisphosphonates, ciprofloxacin, fluorides, iron, levothyroxine, tetracycline and zinc
  • Absorption reduced by corticosteroids
  • Increased risk of hypercalcemia when combined with thiazides and related diuretics
  • No clinically significant food drug interactions reported

Contraindications

  • Hypocalcemia and hypercalciuria
  • Metastatic calcification
  • Hypersensitivity to any of the components
