Description

Closid 2 mg Tablet is indicated for the treatment of panic disorder, with or without agoraphobia, and as an adjunct in the treatment of Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome, akinetic and myoclonic seizures. It exhibits anticonvulsive, sedative, muscle relaxing, and anxiolytic effects through enhancement of GABAergic neurotransmission. The dosage for adults with seizure disorders, panic disorder, and pediatric patients is specified. Closid has minimal interaction with certain drugs, contraindications in patients with hypersensitivity to benzodiazepines or significant liver disease, and potential side effects related to CNS depression. It requires caution in use during pregnancy, lactation, and in populations such as pediatric, geriatric, and those with renal or hepatic impairment. Storage conditions and reconstitution guidelines are also provided. It belongs to the therapeutic class of adjunct anti-epileptic drugs and benzodiazepine hypnotics. The chemical structure includes the molecular formula C15H10ClN3O3.
