Recommended Dosage

  • Adults:
    • Once weekly for 7 weeks
    • 20000 IU every 4 weeks

  • Children (12-18 years):
    • 20000 IU once every 2 weeks for 6 weeks
    • 20000 IU every 6 weeks

Administration

  • Capsule: Take with or after meals
  • Film-coated Tablet: Take 1-2 tablets daily with food
  • Oroflash/Chewable Tablet: Take daily with food, chew and swallow
  • Syrup:
    • 400 IU/day (0-1 yr)
    • 600 lU/day (>1 yr)
    • 2000 IU/day (0-18 yrs)

Pharmacological Action

Calcitriol binds to Vitamin D receptors, increases calcium absorption, fat-soluble
