Indications

• Relief of dyspepsia symptoms
• Relief of heartburn
• Relief of acid indigestion
• Relief of sour stomach
• Relief of gastroesophageal reflux
• Relief of hiatal hernia symptoms
• Relief of hyperacidity associated with peptic ulcers
• Relief of hyperacidity associated with gastritis
• Relief of hyperacidity associated with esophagitis
• Relief of flatulence
• Relief of abdominal distension
• Relief of windy colic

Pharmacology

• Combination of magaldrate and simethicone
• Magaldrate neutralizes gastric acid
• Magaldrate decreases pepsin activity
• Simethicone enables gas bubble coalescence

Dosage & Administration

• 1-4 chewable tablets after meals and at bedtime
• 20 to 60 minutes after meals
• 2-4 teaspoonfuls (10-20 ml) of suspension after meals and at bedtime
• 20 to 60 minutes after meals

Interaction

• Not to be used with Tetracycline
• May reduce bio-availability or slower absorption of certain drugs

Contraindications

• Known hypersensitivity to magnesium and aluminium
• Impaired renal functions

Side Effects

• Uncommon gastrointestinal side-effects
• Occasional diarrhea with excessive consumption
• Occasional constipation with excessive consumption
• Occasional regurgitation with excessive consumption

Pregnancy & Lactation

• Use in pregnancy if indicated
• Avoid excessive dosage during pregnancy
• May pass into breast milk

Precautions & Warnings

• Care in decreased kidney function
• Care in hypophosphataemia
• Care in weak individuals

Overdose Effects

• Rare in case of overdose
