Twinor 0.2% + 0.5% (Ophthalmic Solution)

Indications

• Reduction of elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with glaucoma
• Reduction of elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with ocular hypertension

Pharmacology

• Contains Brimonidine Tartrate & Timolol Maleate
• Brimonidine Tartrate decreases aqueous humor production and increases nonpressure dependent uveoscleral outflow
• Timolol Maleate reduces aqueous humor production

Dosage & Administration

• Instill 1 drop in the affected eye(s) twice daily

Interaction

• Specific drug interaction studies not conducted

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to any component of the product
• Bronchial asthma
• Severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
• Sinus bradycardia
• Second or third-degree atrioventricular block
• Overt cardiac failure
• Cardiogenic shock

Side Effects

• Allergic conjunctivitis
• Conjunctival folliculosis
• Conjunctival hyperaemia
• Eye pruritus
• Ocular burning or stinging

Pregnancy & Lactation

• No adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women
• Use during pregnancy only if potential benefit justifies potential risk to the fetus
• Timolol detected in human milk, unknown if Brimonidine Tartrate excreted in human milk
• Decision should be made whether to discontinue nursing or drug intake while considering importance of the drug to the mother

Precautions & Warnings

• May be absorbed systemically
• Same types of cardiovascular and pulmonary adverse reactions as seen with systemic beta-blockers may occur

Use in Special Populations

• Safety and effectiveness in children below the age of 2 years not established
• No overall differences in safety or effectiveness observed between elderly and other adult patients

Storage Conditions

• Cool & dry storage place
• Protect from light
• Do not use longer than 30 days after first opening of the bottle
• Keep out of the reach of children
