Entafi 5 mg+5 mg (Capsule)

Indications

• Initiate treatment of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)
• Reduce signs and symptoms of enlarged prostate

Pharmacology

• Combination of Finasteride and Tadalafil
• Finasteride: inhibits steroid Type II 5a-reductase
• Finasteride: lowers DHT hormone levels
• Tadalafil: inhibits phosphodiesterase type-5 (PDE5)
• Tadalafil: relaxes smooth muscles of the prostate

Dosage & Administration

• Recommended dosage: one capsule orally once daily
• Duration of use: up to 26 weeks
• Administration on an empty stomach
• Not recommended for children under 18 years
• Use with caution in moderately impaired hepatic function

Interaction

• Contraindicated with organic nitrates
• Caution with co-administration with alpha-blockers
• Mild systemic vasodilation with antihypertensives

Contraindications

• Concomitant use with organic nitrates

Side Effects

• Finasteride monotherapy adverse reactions: impotence, decreased libido
• Tadalafil adverse reactions: headache, dyspepsia, back pain

Pregnancy & Lactation

• Contraindicated in pregnancy and lactating mothers
• Contact with crushed or broken capsules to be immediately washed off

Precautions & Warnings

• Not recommended for recent myocardial infarction patients
• Not recommended for patients with unstable angina or heart failure
• Discontinue immediately if hypersensitivity reaction occurs
• Use with caution in patients with anatomical deformation of the penis

Overdose Effects

• Standard supportive measures to be adopted in cases of overdose
