Lacor 30 mg/ml (IM/IV Injection)

Indications

• Management of acute post-operative pain
• Relief of pain after ocular surgery
• Decrease in eye inflammation caused by allergies

Description

• Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID)
• Inhibits synthesis of prostaglandins
• Metabolized in the liver

Pharmacology

• Inhibits cyclooxygenase enzyme system
• Minimal anti-inflammatory effect at analgesic dose

Dosage & Administration

• Recommended tablet dose: 10mg every 4-6 hours
• Recommended injection dose: varies by age and condition
• Eye drops: 1 drop in each eye 4 times daily

Interaction

• Increased side effects with other NSAIDs or aspirin
• Enhanced anti-coagulant effect with anti-coagulants

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to Ketorolac or other NSAIDs
• Children under 16 years of age
• Prophylactic analgesic before surgery

Precautions & Warnings

• Caution in patients over 65 years of age
• Caution in patients with peptic ulcer, gastrointestinal bleeding, asthma, or liver dysfunction
• Discontinue use in case of corneal epithelial breakdown
