Description
- Reduces muscle spasm in the intestine, biliary system, bladder, and uterus
- Treats pain in the digestive tract and biliary system
- Indicated for the treatment of spasm and pain in urological and gynaecological diseases
- Competitive antagonist of acetylcholine and histamine
- Inhibits intracellular contractile protein of visceral cell
Dosage & Administration
- Tablet: 2-6 tablets or 3-9 teaspoonfuls syrup daily in divided doses for adults
- Tablet: 3 ml/kg or 6 mg/kg body weight daily in divided doses for children
- Injection: 1 Tiemonium Methylsulphate Injection 3 times daily
- Suppository: 20 mg Tiemonium Methylsulphate suppository two or three times daily
Interaction
- Should not be used with other drugs without consulting a registered physician
Contraindications
- Not to be used in urethroprostatic disorder involving a risk of urine retention
- Contraindicated in patients at risk of angle closure glaucoma
Side Effects
- May cause hypotension and tachycardia in certain individuals
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Results of animal studies did not reveal teratogenic effects
- Prudence should be the rule for nursing mothers in the absence of sufficient data
Precautions & Warnings
- Caution should be taken during treatment of patients with prostate disorders
- Caution should be taken in chronic bronchitis, coronary insufficiency, ambient hyperthermia, renal and hepatic insufficiency
- Risks of visual disturbances may affect driving and machine use
