Indications

Pharmacology

Bronchodilator, Methylxanthine, Smooth muscle relaxation, Diaphragmatic muscle contraction

Dosage & Administration

  • Individualized dose based on serum theophylline concentration
  • Sustained release preparations administration every 12 hours in adults
  • Dosage range for different age groups

Interaction

  • Concurrent use with xanthine derivatives not recommended
  • Clearance affected by various drugs, monitoring needed for dosage adjustments
  • Potentiation of hypokalemia by other medications

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to Theophylline or any other component
