Side Effects
- Transient restlessness
- Dystonias or parkinsonism-like symptoms
- CNS reactions like drowsiness, dizziness, fatigue, blurred vision, and seizures
- Peripheral edema, blood dyscrasias, jaundice
- Rare occurrences of tachycardia, constipation, urinary hesitancy and retention, and hyperpyrexia
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Use during pregnancy not recommended unless essential
- Possible hazards to newborn infants
- Adequate human data not available for lactation
Precautions & Warnings
- Reduced initial dosage for elderly patients
- Sensitivity of elderly patients to extra pyramidal and hypotensive effects
- Caution in patients with cardiovascular disease, including arrhythmias and angina pectoris
