Indications
- Prevention of acute allergic conjunctivitis
- Seasonal conjunctivitis
- Vernal kerato conjunctivitis
- Symptomatic prevention & treatment of seasonal or perennial allergic rhinitis
Dosage & Administration
- For eyes: 1 to 2 drops into each eye 2 to 3 times daily
- For nose: 1 drop to each nostril 2 to 3 times daily
Mode of Action
Acts on mast cells to prevent them from releasing substances that cause the allergic reaction
Pharmacology
Inhibits degranulation of sensitized mast cells after exposure to specific antigens
Interaction
No evidence of interaction with other drugs observed
Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Sodium Cromoglicate
Side Effects
- Transient stinging and burning
- Local irritation
Pregnancy & Lactation
Use with caution during pregnancy, no known harmful effects when used by breastfeeding mothers
Precautions & Warnings
Avoid wearing contact lenses during treatment due to the presence of benzalkonium chloride
Overdose Effects
Overdose is unlikely, symptomatic treatment is recommended in case of accidental ingestion
