Indications
- Prevention of acute allergic conjunctivitis
- Seasonal conjunctivitis
- Vernal kerato conjunctivitis
- Symptomatic prevention of seasonal or perennial allergic rhinitis
Dosage & Administration
- 1 to 2 drops into each eye 2 to 3 times daily
- 1 drop to each nostril 2 to 3 times daily
Pharmacology
Inhibits degranulation of sensitized mast cells, inhibits release of histamine and membrane derived mediators of inflammation
Description
Used to prevent the symptoms of allergies by acting on mast cells
Interaction
No evidence of interaction with other drugs
Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Sodium Cromoglicate
Side Effects
- Transient stinging and burning
- Local irritation have been reported rarely
Pregnancy & Lactation
Use with caution during pregnancy and no known harmful effects when used by breastfeeding mothers
Precautions & Warnings
Patients should not wear contact lenses during treatment
Overdose Effects
Overdose is unlikely. In the event of accidental ingestion, symptomatic treatment is recommended
