Indications
- Prophylactic treatment of bronchial asthma
- Symptomatic treatment of allergic conditions including rhinitis and conjunctivitis
- Alleviating complications of itching, pain, and tenderness associated with neurofibroma
- Symptomatic treatment of allergy such as hayfever and urticaria
Pharmacology
- Ketotifen has anti-allergic properties
- Properties of an antihistamine

Dosage & Administration
- Adults: 1 mg twice daily with food, may increase to 2 mg twice daily in severe cases
- Children above 3 years: 1 mg twice daily with food
- Elderly: Same as adult dose or as advised by the physician
Interaction
- Potentiation of effects of sedatives, hypnotics, antihistamines, and alcohols
- Reversible fall in platelet count observed in some patients receiving concomitant oral antidiabetic agents
Contraindications
- Avoid concomitant use with oral antidiabetic agents
- No specific recommendations for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding

Precautions & Warnings
- Continue previous treatment for a minimum of two weeks after starting Allerkit

- Impaired reactions on the first day of treatment, patients advised not to operate vehicles or machinery
- Avoid alcoholic drinks
