Indications
- Prophylactic treatment of bronchial asthma

Dosage & Administration
- Adult dosage: 1 mg twice daily with food, may be increased to 2 mg in severe cases
- Children above 3 years: 1 mg twice daily with food
- Elderly dosage: Same as adult dose or as advised by the physician
Interaction
- May potentiate the effects of sedatives, hypnotics, antihistamines, and alcohol
Contraindications
- Avoid concomitant use with oral antidiabetic agents
- Avoid use in pregnancy and when breastfeeding

Precautions & Warnings
- Continue previous treatment for a minimum of two weeks after starting Kofen to avoid exacerbation of asthma

- Reactions may impair driving or operating machinery
- Avoid alcoholic drinks

- Confusion
- Headache
- Bradycardia
- Respiratory depression
- Elimination of the drug with gastric lavage or emesis is recommended
- General supportive treatment is required
