Indications
- Prophylactic treatment of bronchial asthma
- Symptomatic treatment of allergic conditions including rhinitis and conjunctivitis
- Alleviating complications of itching, pain, and tenderness associated with neurofibroma
- Symptomatic treatment of allergies such as hayfever and urticaria
Pharmacology
- Anti-allergic properties

Dosage & Administration
- Adults: 1 mg twice daily with food, may be increased to 2 mg in severe cases
- Children above 3 years: 1 mg twice daily with food, 0.5 to 1 mg for easily sedated patients
- Use in elderly: Same as adult dose or as advised by the physician
Interaction
- Potentiate effects of sedatives, hypnotics, antihistamines, and alcohols
- Reversible fall in platelet count observed with oral antidiabetic agents
Contraindications
- Reversible fall in platelet count observed with oral antidiabetic agents
- Not recommended in pregnancy or when breastfeeding

Precautions & Warnings
- Continue previous treatment for at least two weeks after starting Stafen

- Impaired reactions at the beginning of treatment, caution with vehicles and machinery
- Avoid alcoholic drinks
