Indications
- Prophylactic treatment of bronchial asthma
- Symptomatic treatment of allergic conditions including rhinitis and conjunctivitis
- Alleviating complications of itching, pain, and tenderness associated with neurofibroma
- Symptomatic treatment of allergy such as hayfever and urticaria
Pharmacology
- Anti-allergic properties
- Prophylactic treatment of asthma
- Antihistamine properties
- Anti-anaphylactic properties
- Inhibitory effect on histamine reactions
- Sustained mast cell stabilization
- Reduction of asthma attacks
Dosage & Administration
- Adult dose: 1 mg twice daily with food, may increase to 2 mg in severe cases
- Children above 3 years: 1 mg twice daily with food
- Elderly use: Same as adult dose or as advised by the physician
Interaction
- Potentiate effects of sedatives, hypnotics, antihistamines, and alcohols
- Reversible fall in platelet count with oral antidiabetic agents
Contraindications
- Avoid concomitant use with oral antidiabetic agents
- Not recommended during pregnancy or when breastfeeding

Precautions & Warnings
- Continue previous treatment for at least two weeks after starting Ziten
- Avoid alcoholic drinks

- Potentiate effects of sedatives, hypnotics, antihistamines, and alcohol
