Indications

Pharmacology
- Oral mucolytic agent
- Disrupts acid mucopolysaccharide fibres
- Produces less viscous mucus
- Easier expectoration
- Rapid & complete absorption
- Widely distributed in body tissues
Dosage & Administration
- Adult dose: 10ml (2 teaspoons) 3 times daily
- Children over 12 years dose: 10ml (2 teaspoons) 3 times daily
- Children 6-12 years dose: 5ml (1 teaspoon) 3 times daily
- Children 2-6 years dose: 2.5ml (1/2 teaspoon) 3 times daily
- Not recommended for children under 2 years without advice

- No known significant interactions with other drugs
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to Bromhexine Hydrochloride

- Occasional gastrointestinal side effects
- Transient rise in serum aminotransferase values

Precautions & Warnings
- Use with care in patients with a history of peptic ulcer disease
- Care advisable in asthmatic patients
- Reduced clearance in patients with severe hepatic or renal impairment
