Indications

• Relief of cough
• Relief of congestive symptoms
• Aiding restful sleep

Composition

• Guaifenesin BP 100mg
• Levomenthol BP 1.1mg
• Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride BP 14mg

Pharmacology

• Reduces viscosity of sputum
• Expectorant properties
• Local anesthetic properties
• Decongestant properties
• Antitussive properties
• Antihistaminic properties
• Anticholinergic properties

Dosage & Administration

• For adults and children over 12 years
• Dosage: 2 teaspoonfuls syrup 4 times a day
• Max dosage: 8 teaspoonful syrup in 24 hours
• Use in Children & Adolescents: Not established

Interaction

• Potentiates effects of alcohol
• Potentiates effects of other CNS depressants
• May potentiate effects of anticholinergics

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to the product or its components
• Recent treatment with MAOIs

Side Effects

• Drowsiness
• Dizziness
• Nausea and vomiting
• Gastrointestinal disturbance
• Dry mouth, nose, and throat
• Difficulty in urination
• Blurred vision

Pregnancy & Lactation

• Care should be taken during pregnancy
• Not associated with adverse effects in the human fetus or suckling infant

Precautions & Warnings

• May cause drowsiness
• Should not be taken by individuals with narrow-angle glaucoma
• Should not be taken by individuals with symptomatic prostatic hypertrophy
• Not for persistent or chronic cough without physician direction

Overdose Effects

• Excess use may cause renal calculi
